Wearable photographed memories

This collection was imagined while studying old family photographs, mainly from the 70’s and the 80’s, researching key aspects of the traditional wear such as the silhouette. Looking at women’s clothes at that time helped me get closer to the roots of our fashion identity. These old photographs were mainly taken in Guelma, north-east city in Algeria, my father's hometown. The color palette was defined by traditional jewelries from Kabylie. The headpieces are made out of Fetla cordon which is used for traditional embroidery and are worn as facial tattoos.
Model : Amel Kader. Hair & Make up : Yelles. Jewelries : Archives from Reflets d’argent.
